WIN switches back to Nine

WIN Network recently signed a new affiliation agreement with Nine, which means all their stations aligned with Network Ten will switch to Nine on 1st July 2021.

Stations in WIN markets that are currently aligned with Nine, mostly owned by Southern Cross Austereo, will swap to Network Ten as a result.

It was only in 2016 when WIN switched to Network Ten in a groundbreaking affiliation swap that came about over a lengthy period of in-fighting between WIN and Nine.

The changes will see the end of the WIN brand as a channel identity. Nine’s channels will be named the same as in metro areas. WIN also won’t initially launch 9Life as their existing contract with Sky News must continue until the end of July. 9Life will launch in its place on 1st August.

WIN’s Northern NSW stations remain with Network 10, but will also remove WIN branding in line with their other markets.
